Concert to feature chamber, percussion and wind ensembles

Take a tour of Renaissance Europe during the fall concert by the University of Windsor Wind Ensemble this Friday, November 29.

The program will open with Courtly Airs and Dances, a suite by composer Ron Nelson that features a dance characteristic of each of five European countries during the 1500s: the French “Basse Danse,” the English “Pavane,” the Italian “Saltarello,” the Spanish “Sarabande,” and the German “Allemande.”

The eclectic program goes on to pair contemporary works with music by Mozart and will include performances by the Percussion Ensemble and a chamber group. Find more, including a full list of performers and notes on the program, on the event webpage.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at Banwell Community Church, 2400 Banwell Road on Windsor’s east side. Admission is $10, with a discounted student rate of $5. Order tickets online or by phone at 519-253-30000, ext. 4212.
