Human suffering subject of lecture

As part of its outreach activities during Islam Awareness Week, the Muslim Students Association presents a free public lecture entitled “Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People?” at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, in room 200, Toldo Health Education Centre.

Imam Yasin Dwyer will address such questions as Why does God put us through tests and tribulations? Why do people have to suffer the way that they are suffering? and Why me? A question-and-answer session will follow the formal presentation.

The association will also staff a booth today and tomorrow in the CAW Student Centre Commons with creative displays, pamphlets and brochures, says organizer Hanan Khaled.

“Our goal is to make ourselves available to answer any questions and address negative depictions, promoting a positive understanding of Islamic principles and ideals,” she says.
