Discussion to explore care of refugees

Having left their native countries due to violence and persecution, many refugees now call Windsor home.

Sister Helen Petrimoulx, retired refugee specialist for the Roman Catholic diocese of London, will lead a discussion with volunteers who have helped resettle many newcomers to the area in a free public event Monday, April 3, entitled “I was a stranger and you welcomed me.”

Speakers will share their experiences providing care to refugees, and consider how to join these new neighbours in building a better community for all.

The event is part of Assumption University’s Christian Culture Series and will begin at 7 p.m. at the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County, 6038 Empress Street.
