Relocation of the Peer Support Centre and Womxn’s Centre will help students secure access to mental health resources, say organizers of both services of the University of Windsor Students’ Alliance.

The two will trade offices in the CAW Student Centre, opening September 11 with the Womxn’s Centre in room 208 and the Peer Support Centre in room 291, adjacent to the Student Counselling Centre.

“Being neighbours will create a hub of services that sync up well together,” says peer support co-ordinator John Antoniw. “After receiving support from our staff, we can then extend referral services right next door to the Student Counselling Centre. The process becomes more convenient and private for students when seeking this additional resource.”

The Peer Support Centre provides a safe and inclusive space for students to drop in and speak in confidence with a trained volunteer. Its new location offers space for private conversations.

The Womxn’s Centre operates as a welcoming environment for people of all backgrounds and expressions, and provides resources and information reflecting its actively pro-choice, feminist environment.
