Ceremony to dedicate David A. Wilson Commons

A ceremony Friday, September 29, will formally inaugurate the David A. Wilson Commons, a gathering place in the heart of campus between the Odette Building and the Medical Education Building.

The space incorporates a basketball court and performance stage alongside landscaping and benches. It is named to honour UWindsor professor emeritus and alumnus David Wilson (B.Comm 1961).

Formerly chair of the Faculty of Business’s accounting area, Wilson has maintained close ties with the University since leaving to become chief executive of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, from which he retired as president in 2001.

Friday’s ceremony is set for 10:30 a.m. and is open to all members of the campus community.
