Online academic advising available to FAHSS students

The Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (FAHSS) has launched several new online advising initiatives for its students, including a way to advise students using BlackBoard Learn.

Students who may be struggling with their academics now have the option to talk to FAHSS learning specialist Phebe Lam about their concerns and problems online. They will also still have the option to meet Dr. Lam face-to-face by scheduling a meeting at the University.

“It is quite convenient for students nowadays,” says Tony Vo, advising initiatives coordinator. “You are able to access the resources from the comfort of your home without having to drive to school to see an academic advisor!”

Besides speaking with the learning specialist, students using this online platform also have the opportunity to talk to senior students in their department about tips and advice on how to succeed at University.

Students can access the link to BlackBoard Learn through the UWindsor FAHSS app, which is free and available for download for both iOS and Android phones.
