UWindsor employees invited to help grads and guests celebrate Convocation

A highlight of the academic year, Convocation is the culmination of students’ UWindsor experiences and a celebration of their academic successes.

Faculty and staff members not otherwise involved can help to make the occasion memorable for graduates and their guests by joining the Volunteer at Convocation program. A joint project of the Department of Human Resources and the Office of the Registrar, it recruits employees to greet guests, usher them to their seats, and answer any questions.

Fall Convocation will be held in two sessions, morning and afternoon on Saturday, October 13, in the St. Denis Centre. To participate, sign up online by October 5. Find more information, including the sign-up form, on the Volunteer at Convocation website.

Another opportunity is to help out at the Alumni Association’s framing booth, which secures grads’ new diplomas and gets them ready for proud display. To learn how you can join this team, contact Rob Janisse, co-ordinator of special projects in the alumni office, at 519-253-3000, ext. 4055, or robj@uwindsor.ca.
