Food Services to ladle out support for charity

Campus Food Services staff will contribute a pot of soup to the fight against heart disease and stroke.

The Windsor-Essex branch of the Heart and Stoke Foundation of Canada is holding its fundraising Great Soup Kitchen today — Wednesday, March 27 — at the St. Clair College Centre for the Arts.

The event will feature an all-you-can-eat selection of soups prepared by local restaurants, as well as entertainment and giveaways for the $10 cost of admission.

UWindsor executive chef Paolo Vasapolli says the campus entry will consist of Tuscan bean and kale soup. Served with crumbled smoked chorizo served on the side, the soup itself is vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free.

The event runs 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 201 Riverside Drive West. For more information or to purchase tickets online, visit www.thegreatsoupkitchen.com.
