Kinesiology student aims to start new business

A University of Windsor student is undergoing the exciting task of creating his own business through an annual program.

Mohammad El-Nassar, a 21-year-old going into his third year of human kinetics, has created a new company called Lokally. His business is an online booking system platform that provides small businesses to let their clients book with them online. He was able to work on his business idea by applying for the RBC EPIC Founders program.

“I heard about it through a friend and then I also heard about it again when I was in the Discovery program,” El-Nassar says. “What made me apply to it was the opportunity to work full-time on my business instead of working for someone else and trying to work on my business afterwards. It just felt like a good opportunity for me to be a part of.”

El-Nassar hopes to improve his public speaking and initially starting his business while participating in the program.

This is the eighth in a series of articles introducing this summer’s participants leading up to a showcase of their prototypes Thursday, Aug. 1, at the EPICentre. Learn more on the centre’s website.
