Applications open for prestigious visiting fellowship program

UWindsor faculty with a penchant for travel have the opportunity to take their research around the world thanks to an international fellowship program from a top-ranked university in the United Kingdom.

Applications are now open for the Essex International Visiting Fellowship Programme, a fellowship that invites “established academics to undertake a period of collaborative research” at the University of Essex’s Colchester campus in England.

The University of Windsor is a strategic international partner of the University of Essex, with long-term established collaborations which include student mobility and faculty research collaborations.

The first call for applicants is for a short-and long-stay fellowship that will take place between Oct. 1 and Feb. 29, 2020.

The short-stay fellowship will last two to four weeks and the extended stay will last two to four months.

The deadline to apply is Sept. 1.

The Essex International Visiting Fellowship Programme is open to all academics who have a sustained track record of significant output, as demonstrated in peer-reviewed literature, and a strong commitment to quality research outputs.

The second placement will take place between March 1, 2020 and July 31, 2020. The deadline to apply for the second fellowship is Jan. 31, 2020.

The University of Essex was awarded the University of the Year at the 2018 Times Higher Education Awards and is ranked 25th in the U.K for research quality.

Anyone interested in the program is encouraged to contact the Office of Enrolment Management at avpem@uwindsor.ca or call ext. 3563.
