Awards presentation to acknowledge alumni achievements

The achievements of UWindsor grads are on the agenda for the annual general meeting of the Alumni Association, Thursday, Nov. 14.

Helen Vasilic (BA 1975, B.Ed 1976) and Elaine Whitmore (BScN 1988) will receive the Alumni Award of Merit, given to individuals who have brought pride to the University of Windsor with outstanding contributions to the University or community over a period of years.

The Alumni Ambassador Award, which recognizes mid-career alumni who have reached significant achievements in their professional life, community and volunteer work, and as a UWindsor ambassador, will be presented to Laurie Tannous (BA 1999, JD 2002).

The Odyssey Award recognizes alumni in the early years of their career path who haveg distinguished themselves through successes in career endeavours, notable achievements in their local community, or the University of Windsor. This year’s honourees are Marla Coffin (BA 2009), Stacey Robert-Tobin (BA 2006, B.Ed 2013, M.Ed 2014) and Jennifer Seedu (BComm 2013).

Johanna Frank, a professor in the Department of English and Creative Writing, will receive the Excellence in Mentoring Award, honouring a faculty member who has demonstrated excellence by offering personal, academic, and professional guidance to students.

The Annual General Meeting and Awards Presentation will begin at 5 p.m. Nov. 14 in the Alumni Auditorium, CAW Student Centre. Find additional information and register on the event website.
