Winter sports on weekend agenda

Lancer basketball will host the Ridgebacks of Ontario Tech in a doubleheader Friday, Nov. 15, to open a full weekend of varsity sports.

Windsor’s women are currently leading their division. They will play at 6 p.m. The men, second in the Ontario University Athletics West division, will tip off at 8 p.m. Both games are in the Dennis Fairall Fieldhouse.

Both Lancer squads will return to the venue at the same times Saturday to play the Queen’s Gaels.

Men’s hockey is home to two teams from the Waterloo Region, hosting the Laurier Golden Hawks on Friday and the Waterloo Warriors on Saturday. Both games start at 7:30 p.m. at the Capri Pizzeria Recreation Centre.

Volleyball will return the favour, heading to Waterloo to take on the Warriors on Saturday. The women will play at noon and the men at 2 p.m.

The women’s hockey squad rounds out the weekend action on the road, facing off against the York Lions in Toronto on Saturday at 7:15 p.m. Team members kicked off their holiday season with a donation of items to a local women’s shelter. Read the full story at goLancers.ca.
