Law society honours UWindsor professor

Windsor Law professor Bruce Elman received an honorary degree from the Law Society of Ontario at its “call to the bar” ceremony, June 20 in London.

Law professor emerita wins cross-border recognition

The Canada-United States Law Institute conferred its “Sidney Picker Jr. Award” on UWindsor law professor emerita Maureen Irish during its annual conference April 12 in Cleveland, Ohio.

The award recognizes leadership, efforts to foster Canada-United States relations, and contributions to the work of the institute. It is named to honour the founder of the institute, which is jointly operated by Case Western Reserve University and the University of Western Ontario.

Law library begins summer schedule

The Paul Martin Law Library has commenced its summer hours of operation:

  • 8:30 a.m. to 4:20 p.m., Monday to Thursday
  • 8:30 a.m. to noon, Friday
  • closed Saturday and Sunday

It will also close for holiday observances on these dates: May 21, July 2, August 6, and September 3.

EPICentre’s Makers' Base officially open for tinkering

UWindsor students, recent alumni, and staff are now welcome to get a free membership to the EPICentre Makers' Base.

Research Associate Duncan Lam is busily recruiting members for the new program and gleams with excitement now that the doors and the possibilities of a tinkering network are open for business. EPIC Makers' Base is located in the EPIC Industrial Hub (Centre for Engineering Innovation Room 1133) and is a place for people from all academic and technical backgrounds to undertake experiential learning through hands-on activities.
