Adam Gaunt readies to tape Tarrance Crawford's ankle.Lancer running back Tarrence Crawford awaits some sports therapy from intern Adam Gaunt.

Canadian experience “unforgettable,” says sports therapy intern

His time interning at the UWindsor’s Green Shield Sports Therapy Clinic is one of the best things he has ever done, says Adam Gaunt.

A graduate of the University of Gloucestershire, he was selected for the internship by the UK Society of Sports Therapists and says in an interview published on its website that he would recommend the experience to others.

“You learn so much, not just about sports therapy, but about yourself too,” Gaunt says.

He singled out athletic therapists Kathy Harvie and Dave Stoute for praise, citing their wealth of experience dealing with student athletes and their injuries. He stayed in Harvie’s home while in Windsor, giving them opportunities for conversations on injuries, prescriptions and philosophies.

And, he describes Stoute’s taping as out of this world: “It was like watching liquid folding around somebody’s ankle.”
