Getting Started

Photo of a female Uwindsor student.The University of Windsor is committed to ensuring equal access for all students, and welcomes applications from students who may have disabilities. Students with disabilities are required to apply to the University of Windsor through the regular admission process, which starts with application through the Ontario University Application Centre (OUAC). Students whose averages meet the admissions standard for their chosen program will be offered admission in the period between February and May of the admission year.

If you are considering attending the University of Windsor and would like to know about admission requirements and the application process, that information can be found at the Welcome Future UWindsor Students web page.

Once you have received and are ready to accept your offer of admission to the University of Windsor, use Next Steps to be guided through the admission process and familiarize yourself with the vast array of supports and services available to you. You should also be aware of the various Student Orientation activities that are available to you. This would also be a good time to contact Student Disability Services and arrange for Intake and Registration with us.

In the meantime, you might also want to check out the website created by the Ministry of  Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU) specifically for students with disabilities who are making the transition to post-secondary education.  The MTCU Resource Guide for Students with Disabilities, is a great place to look for information about the services and resources available to post-secondary students with disabilities.

Note:  If you are a high school graduate whose average is below the threshold for admission to the University of Windsor, and you think you have what it takes to succeed in university, you can still seek admission for Fall 2013 through the Gateway Program.  Check out the Gateway Program for Alternative Admissions.
