Using the SDS Alternate Format Textbook Program

If you are unable to find alternate format on your own you must contact the SDS office as early as possible. It is necessary to provide the SDS office with as much information about your textbook as possible. Please email Liz Fallaise at fallais@uwindsor.ca with the following information:

  1. Your name and email address
  2. Course name, number, section (e.g. 46-115-1)
  3. Instructor’s first and last name
  4. Textbook information, including:
  • Title
  • Author
  • Edition
  • ISBN #
  • Publisher
  • Where you purchased the textbook
  • When you purchased the textbook
  • Amount paid for the textbook

Once this information is received, the Alternate Format Coordinator will search our own resources including the publisher for the e-text or audio format of your textbook. Again, this process can take from 6 – 8 weeks so it is extremely important that the above information be submitted to the SDS office early. If an alternate format is found, we we will contact you by email.

NOTE: The Proof of Purchase MUST be submitted and the Alternate Format Agreement signed in the SDS office before the alternate format copy is given to you.
