Gail Murray

Gail Campbell

Gail Murray is an Associate Professor in Drama in Education and Community. She received BA degrees in Theatre and English from the University of Oregon and an MFA in Acting and Directing with a specialization in Theatre for Youth from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her research interests lie in the area of theatre for social action, puppetry and children’s theatre. She has worked with marginalized communities such as young offenders and immigrant and refugee populations using drama to give voice to their lived experience and to create change.

At the University of Windsor, she has directed Imperfect, Danny King of the Basement, Seesaw, Wiley and the Hairy Man and New Canadian Kid. She has also facilitated performances about the first year student experience (The Windsor Report), immigrant experiences (Welcome to Canada), and drinking and driving (co-facilitated with David Diamond from Theatre for Living, Vancouver).
