Essex Hall Theatre

Essex Hall Theatre is the venue for most mainstage performances by University Players. Its 323 plush seats provide an intimate setting for over 50 performances each year, reaching an audience of nearly 14,000 people.

The H. Clifford and Joan Hatch Studio Theatre, located in the Jackman Dramatic Art Centre, is an intimate and attractive performance venue with a permanent capacity of 86 people that may be expanded to 117. It is a multi-use space for public and student presentations, as well as classroom and rehearsal activities.

A permanent, wooden stage sits in one corner of the theatre and is surrounded by three banks of plush seating. When not in use, the seats can be collapsed and moved away to provide more space for classroom activities. The theatre is equipped with sound and lighting equipment and its own control booth.

University Players main season may include one or two productions staged in the Hatch Studio Theatre.
