Simon du Toit

Simon du Toit is an Outstanding Scholars Advisor, and is a Sessional Instructor in the School of Dramatic Art at the University of Windsor. Du Toit is an experienced actor, director, teacher, and scholar.  He was trained as an actor at LAMDA in London, England, and as an apprentice at the Stratford Festival. He holds an M.F.A. in Theatre Performance from York University, and completed his Ph.D. in Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park. Du Toit has a B.Ed. from the University of Toronto, and has many years of teaching experience at colleges and universities in Canada and the United States, where he has directed over thirty theatre productions in a wide variety of styles.  His research interests focus on performance, culture, and theatre, with a particular interest in religion and theatre. His work has been published in Ecumenica, Liturgy, and the Journal of Dramatic Theory and Criticism.
