Prof. Sally Bick

This year Dr. Bick received two prestigious awards, a Fellowship ($54,000) from the National Endowment for the Arts (2011-2012) in the United States and a three-year grant ($97,000) from the Social Science Research Council of Canada.  She will be on leave during the 2011-12 academic year completing a book forthcoming with Cambridge University Press on the musical and political language of Hollywood film music during the late 1930s and early 1940s as well as an intellectual history on the Musical Legacy of the New School for Social Research.
