Shahida Nurullah Nominated for Prestigious Kresge Award
Jazz/pop voice instructor Shahida Nurullah has been honoured with a nomination for the 2009 Kresge Eminent Artist Award in the Performing/Literary Arts.
The Kresge Eminent Artist Award is a part of Kresge Arts in Detroit (Michigan), a generously funded initiative of The Kresge Foundation. The award provides significant financial support of $50,000 in recognition of an exceptional artist whose influential body of work, impact on their art form and proven commitment to the Detroit cultural community are evident. This award recognizes artistic innovation, and rewards integrity, depth of vision and singularity of purpose. The award will be announced in December 2009.
