NOTICE RE: GRADUATE ASSISTANT (GA) POSITIONS AVAILABLE FOR
FALL 2011
In accordance with Article 12:01 of the CUPE 4580 Collective Agreement the Department of Economics invites applications for GA positions for the Fall 2011 term. The total number of Graduate Assistantships allocated to the Department of Economics for Fall 2011 is expected to be 8 GAs for a total of 1120 hours.

All positions are subject to sufficient enrolment and final budgetary approval.
Eligibility requirements:
GA appointments shall be offered in accordance with the criteria specified in Article 12:03 of the Collective Agreement. In addition, the following are specific criteria required for the appointments above. Preference will be given to applicants who (not necessarily in order of importance):
- have completed 41-110, 41-111, 41-212, 41-221, 41-222, 41-231 and 41-232,or equivalent courses, and have achieved an average grade of A- or better in the above courses;
- have very good communication skills in English;
- have very good inter-personal skills;
- will be available throughout normal school hours and for midterm and final exams (except during lectures, test and exams in courses in which they are registered);
- are familiar with MYECONLAB software.
Note that a student must be registered as fulltime MII (Candidate Year) graduate student in Economics and be in good standing in order to hold a Graduate Assistantship in Economics. Refer to Articles 12, 13, and 14 of the Collective Agreement for additional eligibility details.
