Engineering Outreach for Students in Grades 7 to 12

The field of engineering offers a wide range of diverse and rewarding careers. Whether working in a bank or hospital, on a construction site, or at a manufacturing plant, engineering offers exciting careers for young people who love to organize, solve problems, or simply make things work better.

Yet, for most students today, engineering remains a mystery. Many miss the opportunity to take it in university, and as a result, miss the chance at a lucrative and fulfilling career.

To address this issue, Windsor Engineering offers a wide a range of outreach programs to introduce students in grades 7 through 12 to the benefits of engineering. Just follow the links below to learn more about each one.

Engineering Outreach Program
The Engineering Outreach Program, engages students in high school academic science classes with fun, curriculum-based, hands-on activities.

Windsor Engineering staff and graduate students, offer the first part of the program in the classroom. The program concludes with a visit to an Engineering research lab at the university followed by a visit to an industrial site where students see the engineering principles in action.

Go Engineering Girl
Every year in October, universities across Ontario host the annual Go Engineering Girl Event for young women in Grades 7 through 10 and their parents.  The girls enjoy hands-on activities mentored by professors and women in engineering, while parents discuss opportunities for their daughters with a panel of professional engineers and university students.
