Fast Facts about UWindsor Engineering

The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Windsor:

  • Has five engineering programs run by four different departments (civil engineering; environmental engineering; mechanical, automotive, and materials engineering; electrical and computing engineering; and industrial and manufacturing and systems engineering.
     
  • Offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in all its engineering disciplines.
     
  • Is fully CEAB (Canadian Engineering Accrediation Board) accredited in all its undergraduate programs, and fully accredited by Ontario Graduate Studies (OGS) for its Masters and Doctoral programs.
     
  • Currently has about 900 undergraduate students and 400 graduate students in total.
     
  • Is served by close to 100 professors and support staff.
     
  • Competes regularly in numerous undergraduate engineering competitions, such as the SAE Formula and Baja races, the Waterloo Robot Racer, the Big Beam, and other local, regional, national, and international forums.
     
  • Has an extremely active Engineers Without Borders (EWB) Chapter.
     
  • Is the host university for the AUTO21 Network Centre of Excellence, the largest NCE in Canada.
     
  • Benefits from close industrial partnerships and is part of the world class, multimillion dollar facility - the Automotive Research and Development Centre (ARDC).
     
  • Places undergraduate engineering students in its cooperative work programs all over the world from Germany to China to Australia.
     
  • Offers some of the most generous scholarships to honours students attending our programs.
     
  • Has a dedicated International Students Centre (ISC) to assist students studying abroad.
