James Bryant, a fourth year student in Environmental Engineering, recently recieved a trophy and this letter in recognition of contributions made during his coop term:
Dear James:
I am writing in recognition of your having been chosen as a 2007 OCWAmarine Award Team recipient in the category of Innovation.
These awards are one of the many ways in which OCWA celebrates the valuable contributions our employees make to help ensure our ongoing success. They are a reflection of the appreciation of your peers for your ongoing commitment to the Angency and our clients.
You have been nominated by your peers in recognition of the initiative taken by you and your colleagues in the design and construction of a better system for offloading (PAC) dry carbon. Tested in 2007, the new design of the dust collection system proved to be more effective than its predecessor and effectively met the 5 goals outlined by your team;
In addition to having met and surpassed these goals, your assistance in the design and implementation of the system has resulted in OCWA's ability to offload in less than half of the time. Your team has gone beyond normal expectations, working above and beyond regular work hours and job descriptions to find a solution to what was an ongoing problem. The benefit of this new system is twofold; for our clients it is a new system that does the job faster, cleaner and with a reduced cost in manpower. For our employees, it is a restructured system that supports a safe and healthy work environment.
Without employees like you, and efforts like yours, OCWA would be unable to achieve our corporate goals or to deliver the safe, reliable, and cost effective water services that so many Ontarians have come to expect and depend on.
Thank you and congratulations on an outstanding achievement.
Sincerely
Dante Pontone
President and CEO
