MASc/PhD Application Deadlines for Domestic and International Students
Our Department allows the admission of new candidates in each semester (Fall, Winter or Summer) of the academic year.

Application deadline dates are:

Fall (September) start of program: Deadline - April 1st
Winter (January) start of program: Deadline - August 1st
Summer (May) start of program: Deadline - December 1st

Note: Although our graduate programs accept applications all the time, applicants are strongly encouraged to strictly follow the posted deadlines. In particular, to be considered for an Entrance Scholarship, the stated deadlines must be met.

Application Requirements

  1. All undergraduate and graduate Transcripts
    Minimum GPA Requirements - The minimum GPA admission requirement is based on the last two years of study in a degree program, and must be the North American Equivalent
  • MASc program - 70%
  • PhD program - 80%
  1. English Proficiency Tests
    All Applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate proficiency in English to be considered for admission. Applicants who have completed a degree at an accredited institution where the language of instruction is English (e.g., in a British, Canadian, American or Australian Curriculum or an international diploma like the International Baccalaureate) and can demonstrate English proficiency. In some cases, an English proficiency test may still be required. The minimum requirement for admission to the M.A.Sc. or Ph.D. Program for TOEFL or IELTS is:

    TOEFL (paper-based) - Minimum score: 560
    TOEFL (electronic) - Minimum score: 220
    TOEFL (internet-based) - Minimum score: 83

    IELTS - Minimum score: 6.5
  2. References
    Minimum of two References are required however three are preferred. Please be sure the email provided for your Referee is correct as a link will be sent to this email address to allow them to upload their references to your application

  4. Statement of Research/Interest 

Once your application is received by the University of Windsor you will receive an email from the University of Windsor providing you a student number and PAC code. It will also contain a link to the Electronic Graduate Application System (EGAS) which will allow you to upload all required documents and track your application progress.

PLEASE NOTE:  you must submit your application once all documents have been uploaded and you are sure your application is complete. You will not be able to change your application once it has been submitted.
