Students and faculty are invited to attend a reading by acclaimed poet Daphne Marlatt. This reading will take place at 4:00pm on Monday, March 5th in Vanier Hall's Katzman Lounge. This event is free to attend and open to all.

About Daphne Marlatt:

West Coast poet Daphne Marlatt’s many titles include Steveston, The Given (awarded the 2009 Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize), Liquidities: Vancouver Poems Then and Now, and Reading Sveva, a response to the work of the Italian-Canadian painter Sveva Caetani.  In 2013 House of Anansi published a new edition of her acclaimed novel Ana Historic, with foreword by Lynn Crosby, and in 2014 Wilfred Laurier University Press released her selected poetry, Rivering, edited by Susan Knutson. Talonbooks has just released Intertidal: The Collected Earlier Poems 1968-2008 edited by Susan Holbrook.  In 2012 Marlatt received the George Woodcock Lifetime Achievement Award. She has taught and served as writer in residence at half a dozen universities, edited oral histories and co-founded the bilingual feminist journal Tessera.
