On Tuesday March 6th, 2012 the University of Windsor’s Engineering Student Society along with the Faculty of Engineering hosted the annual High School Design Competition. The competition took place on the University’s campus in Winclare A, Vanier Hall. The competition ran from 8:30 am until approximately 3:30 pm. Lunch was provided to all participants.
All high schools in the Windsor Essex area were invited to send four competitors along with a faculty advisor, to represent their school. The competition challenges the students by presenting them with a unique design task that must be overcome by using the knowledge gained in the classroom. The students were required to analyze the problem, design a suitable solution, and present their idea to the panel of judges. The judges looked for the application of scientific knowledge combined with ingenuity. This Years winners was Team-B from General Amherst High School, consisting of:
