A project to upgrade the streetscaping along Wyandotte from Sunset to Campbell avenues will have an impact on traffic patterns around campus.
The city project will include work to sewers, watermains, and vehicular and pedestrian pavements, beginning as early as the week of May 14 at the intersection of Wyandotte and Sunset and extending eastward.
Campus community is advised that delays may occur on Wyandotte and to adjust your time to campus accordingly.
The project is aimed at creating a pedestrian-oriented environment along Wyandotte Street while preserving it as a commercial corridor. Raised planters will hold low perennials and shade trees, while light columns will provide illumination in artistic configuration and join benches, bicycle racks and trash receptacles in creating a greater sense of place.
Streetscape elements selected by the City of Windsor will complement the materials being used in the Centre for Engineering Innovation. Colour for all site furnishings and paving material also selected by the city integrates the colour palette being used by University.
