The University of Windsor's School of Computer Science, in the Faculty of Science, invites applications for a Limited Term 9-month position at the rank of Lecturer, commencing August 15, 2018. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

The University of Windsor is a medium-sized university with a solid reputation in teaching and research, offering a friendly and supportive environment for both living and learning.  It is Canada’s southernmost university, and its border location provides unique cultural, recreational, and educational opportunities for faculty and students.

The successful candidate will have a thesis-based M.Sc. (or equivalent level as determined by the Committee) in Computer Science by the date of appointment, with strong computer science teaching experience and a commitment to teaching courses on a wide range of topics at upper undergraduate levels. The successful candidate will be required to teach courses in advanced programming (such as, 60-212, 60-266, 60-352 and 60-377 – for course descriptions, refer to http://www.uwindsor.ca/calendar), to a total complement of six semester courses.

  • a detailed and current curriculum vitae;
  • a teaching dossier or teaching portfolio showing a potential for or evidence of teaching effectiveness and excellence that will include sample course syllabi/outlines, teaching evaluations, and a statement of teaching philosophy and interests (resources and templates for completing a teaching dossier can be found at http://www.uwindsor.ca/ctl/links-pd);
  • graduate transcripts; and
  • three (3) current letters of reference forwarded directly by the referees to the Director at the address or email listed below.
