Tony Lau, Filmmaker: His Latest Film Project Funded by Telefilm Canada
Tony Lau is bringing awareness to issues where most would turn a blind eye. His short documentary, Left Behind Woman, was accepted by the Reel Asian Film Festival and played at Canada’s largest Asian film festival in Toronto and Richmond Hill. This documentary was shot in northeastern China, and tells the story of mothers in rural communities that stay behind to manage all the domestic duties while their husbands go to larger, far-off industrial centres for extended stays to seek employment.
