Student concerns

First year students who have questions regarding their courses should go to the Advising Centre located in the CAW Centre.

If you are a student in year 2 or higher, your first point of contact should be either your instructor, for course-related issues, or your academic advisor within your department.

Each department has their own academic advisor, for example, if you are a Psychology major, you have a counselor in Psychology; if you are a Social Work major, you have an advisor in Social Work. They are the first contact point for any of your study issues or concern outside a particular course. If you haven't met your advisor, schedule a degree progress check through your department's main office.

The Liberal and Professional Studies program is run through the Arts and Social Sciences Dean's Office. Visit  room 110 Chrysler Hall Tower, or phone 519-253-3000 X2029 to meet with your academic counselor.

Required courses

There are two required courses for all Arts and Social Sciences students admitted in 2008? or later:

  • 01-01-150 Foundations of Academic Writing I and
  • 01-01-151 Foundations of Academic Writing II

It is strongly recommended that you take these in your first year at the University.

The University of Windsor on-line calendar is  your reference for course and program requirements as well as the university regulations.
