Want To Be A Social Worker?

Social work as a career offers many possibilities to people who want to make a difference in the quality of life for individuals and society. This profession is practiced with diverse population groups in a broad variety of employment settings. The range of skills, knowledge and expertise which is required makes the profession a challenging and demanding field. In the 21st century, the social work profession is projected to be one of the growth areas in terms of occupational opportunities in both Canada and the United States. More than 90 percent of our graduates find employment within six months of graduation.

Social Workers work directly with those who are disadvantaged and troubled, including persons who are homeless, unemployed, have physical or mental disabilities, street youth, splintered families, victims of violence or offenders. In addition, social workers may work with groups of individuals, families, social planning bodies and advocacy associations.
