Career Planning and Education

How can the Centre for Career Education (CCE) help you?

The CCE offers programs and resources that can help you with career planning, job search strategies, resumé writing, interview preparation and experiential education.

What sorts of workshops and events can I attend?

The CCE offers workshops on a variety of career development and employability related topics such as “Understanding Labour Market Information and Developing a Personalized Job Search” and “Interview Techniques”. Each year the CCE hosts a career expo in the fall term, a job fair in the winter term and several employer information sessions and networking events throughout the year.

What other resources are available?

The CCE offers individual career advising appointments and many online resources to assist students in achieving their career goals.  Students can earn a Career Development Certificate by participating in their choice of five qualifying activities related to employability and career development.

Mock Interviews

The CCE offers professional mock interviews designed to enhance skills and confidence and provide feedback and evaluation.

Job Postings

All job postings targeted to UWindsor students and recent grads are posted on the myCareer system. This includes full-time, part-time, summer, contract, volunteer and international career opportunities.

Volunteer Internship Program

What is it?

Volunteer with a non-profit, or not-for-profit community agency or government office to get career-related experience and a notation on your transcript.

How much time is involved?

At least 40 hours within 10 weeks.

Who is eligible?

Everyone!

Why?

Gain references, experience, skills, and an acknowledgement notation on your transcript.

Co-operative Education

Why take co-op?

Earn while you learn! Wages vary depending on positions from $11 to $20 per hour.

How does it work?

Four years of study including three or four 12- to 16-week work placements.

How many companies are involved?

More than 200.

Where would I work?

Mostly in Ontario, but placements are offered throughout
Canada. There are also some international positions.
