Our research group focuses on the evolution of aquatic inverterates and urochordates and uses several model species including the waterflea Daphnia pulex, and the vase tunicate Ciona intestinalis, to investigate key evolutionary and ecological questions. More specifically, we use population genetics, phylogenetic and genomics approaches to investigate the evolution of mutation and recombination rates, the ecological genetics of aquatic invasive species, and the molecular basis for speciation and adaptation in aquatic ecosystems.
