GA/TA Contract Deadlines

Deadlines for receiving the notices of appointment (contract) in the Graduate Studies office from the departments:

Winter term 2018:

  • December 1 - For payment to the student on Jan. 19, 2018

  • Jan. 12 - For payment to the student on Feb. 2, 2018

  • Jan. 26 - For payment to the student on Feb. 16, 2018

  • Feb. 9 - For payment to the student on March 2, 2018

  • Feb. 23 - For payment to the student on March 16, 2018

  • March 9 - For payment to the student on March 30, 2017

  • March 23 - For payment to the student on Apr. 13, 2018

  • Apr. 6 - For payment to the student on Apr. 27, 2018

Note that if students receiving GAs wish to enroll in the payroll deferment plan through the Cashier's Office, the notices of appointments must be received in Graduate Studies no later than January 17, 2018 and a payroll deferment form must be submitted to the cashier's office within their posted deadline - for details refer to the instructions on the cashier's webpage.

  • If contracts are received after any of these deadlines, the students will receive their payment on the next payroll run.
  • It is important that departments remind students that they need to visit the Human Resources office to complete the paperwork for an employee number, or to update their personal information regarding direct deposit, etc. Please make sure that they are aware of this, since failure to do so will delay payment of their GA/TA.
