2012 International Women's Day celebration and Movie Night

This year's 2012 International Women's Day celebration will take place here on campus at the CAW Student Centre. The event will take place on March 8th, from 10am - 3pm in the CAW Centre Commons, and from 4pm - 7pm in the Ambassador Auditorium. Also as a Prelude to International Women's Day festivities we are hosting a movie screening of, "The Help". The show beings at 7pm and ends approximately at 9pm, March 5th.  In McDonald Hall movie theatre.

Come celebrate International Women's Day with fellow students, community members and local organizations! The day will be filled with many fun activities, performances, and information booths, there is sure to be something for everyone!

Itinerary March 8th

10:00am – 3:00pm: The CAW (commons) Centre

• Informational booths from campus, the community related to women, women’s health and/or issues will be displayed (e.g., athletic teams, Hiatus House, Well-Come Centre, Out on Campus, CJAM, etc).
• Female-focused or women-oriented art show.
• Various interactive activities and social gatherings (Button-making, knitting, mural/banner, painting, etc).

4:00pm – 7:00pm (Ambassador Auditorium)

• Performances, fan dancing, monologues, dancers, singers
• Highschool performers (yet to be confirmed)
• Feminist theatre, cross town players
• Guest speaker Shantelle Browning; Governor General Award Winner
