BUDDY Program

Those students who choose to participate in this program will be matched with a returning student who has been on campus for at least a year. This returning student will be available to answer questions via e-mail, and will meet with the new student at least once when they arrive in Canada to show them around the University.

The Buddy Program is geared to provide a social network for new international students as they enter the University of Windsor. Through this social network, the program should help make students time here at the University of Windsor more enjoyable by providing contacts that have been through their first year already, and can offer advice on the best ways to deal with situations that might arise.

The program also offers an opportunity to learn about Canadian culture before you enter the country, and will be able to help answer questions that brochures may not cover. Also, students who have had more individualized support in their first year generally have lower anxiety levels, fewer social and personal difficulties, and higher levels of self-esteem
