Resolved: Network Interruption October 06 4:30-8:00AM

Update Oct 06 4:50pm: ITS has completed the migration to the new firewalls and has resolved the issues experienced after the upgrade. 

Problems were experienced with a widespread portion of the network not being able to reach the Internet and VPNs were not working.  The problems were caused by a previously undetected problem with the new firewalls and we worked with our support partner to identify and work around the problem.

We apologise for the disruption and inconvenience caused by this problem and appreciate your understanding as we worked through the issues.

Original notice:

ITS will upgrade campus firewalls Friday October 06 from 4:30-8:00AM. There will be a network and application outage for up to 3.5 hours. 

The University's Internet connection, wireless and wireless networks will be interrupted for up to 60 minutes. Most applications and services will also be interrupted for up to 90 minutes. Some applications such as Blackboard and myUWindsor will be unavailable for up to 3 hours.

This upgrade is required to increase the capacity, stability and speed of the campus cybersecurity infrastructure.
