Should I Upgrade?
The Notes 8.5.3 upgrade is voluntary for all users although strongly recommended for your own benefit. Individuals will be prompted through the Lotus Notes Smart Upgrade feature if they would like to upgrade their workstation or not. Here are some important facts to consider for your upgrade:
-
If you choose to defer the Smart Upgrade, you can set the time period until you are prompted to be asked again by setting the "Remind Me In" field, or by manually triggering the Smart Upgrade by clicking on "Tools" and then "Notes Smart Upgrade"
-
Depending on your computer and internet connection speed, the upgrade may take between 10-45 minutes.
-
Dial up users should NOT use Smart Upgrade. You can order a copy of the installation CD from the IT Services Software Depot.
-
After version 8.5.3 was installed on your computer, you may be prompted again to install the fixpack for it. We strongly recommend to install all fixpacks when they become available.
