IT Services offers the following support for new PCs purchased from the Preferred Vendor:
- The IT Services HelpDesk can offer individuals help with selecting a PC for your needs.
- IT Services will provide up to two hours of setup free. Setup includes taking components out of boxes and attaching them, installing appropriate University standard software available on the Novell network, transferring information from the client's old PC to their new one. If any peripherals have to be installed inside a new machine, theses will be installed by the ITS technician and will be charged at the current hourly rate. Time over two hours will be charged for at the ITS hourly rate. It is not expected that setups from the preferred vendor would ever take more than two hours.
- Machines purchased from the University's Preferred vendor will come with the University's default image, which saves clients money and time. All clients are encouraged to purchase machines with the default image.
