In order to protect yourself from having your PC become a victim of a virus attack, it is important that you keep both your operating system and virus protection software up to date.
The University has purchased a site licence for Trend Micro’s OfficeScan Virus Protection Software.
There is two-way communication between the OfficeScan server and the OfficeScan clients. Periodic updates are sent from the server to the clients. Once installed, your workstation will communicate with the server to automatically receive all updates.
You may also manually update your Trend Micro OfficeScan client by right clicking on the Trend Micro icon (See Figure 1) in your system tray (at the bottom right hand of the screen) and selecting "Update Now!".
After your machine is updated please manually run a scan by right clicking on the icon in your system tray and selecting "OfficeScan Main". Once you are inside the application, select Local Disk (C:) by clicking in the box beside it and then click the "Scan Drives" box.. This will remove viruses infecting your machine.
