Until recently there was only one method of accessing the Unversity's wireless network; through the "uwindsor" authentication portal. To use this connection you open a web browser and login with your UWIN ID and password to the auto-displayed authentication page. Upon successful login your browser would be redirected to your desired home page for further surfing. Now a new, more secure method is being provided. The "uwindsor_secure" connection implements the WPA2 and 802.1x protocols to encrypt and authenticate your session to the network. With this technique, once you have configured your device properly it can authenticate automagically to the wireless system whenever a wireless access point is available. Please review the applicable documents below to learn how to configure your device for wireless connections.
Almost any device that fully supports the WPA2 and 802.1x protocols can be connected to the wireless network. However, due to a number of issues, connecting printers to the wireless network with a wireless adapter is not supported.
