Malware Protection

Malware is defined as a type of software that serves one purpose: to damage or steal information that is located on your PC. It can come in many different forms and can cause symptoms that range from damaging important system files, to generating annoying pop-ups. IT Services recommends specific software for avoiding these pests, and they can be found at the PC Security page. For Spyware removal, we recommend one (or both) of Malawarebytes and Windows Defender.

For viruses, it is necessary that you run TrendMicro PC-Cillin at all times. It is available from the Software Depot

It is important that you run Spyware and Virus scans regularly to keep your PC clean. 

If our Wireless Administrators suspect your PC is a threat to the network, your connection will be restricted until your PC has been properly cleaned. This action is also included in our Wireless Acceptable Use Guidelines.
