Sign-In Process

UWindsor campus community members sign into many campus systems including Brightspace, Microsoft 365 Apps (Office 365), myUWinfo, UWinsite Finance and UWinsite Student with:

  • Their username (UWinID@uwindsor.ca - including the "@uwindsor.ca" part)
  • Their UWin Account password
  • If off-campus, a secondary device-dependent authentication method (MFA)

Other University systems are typically accessed with UWin ID and UWin Account password.

Depending on your device, you wil either experience a one-step or two-step sign-in process

One-step sign in

One-step sign in is available for UWindsor faculty and staff who are using Windows 10 on a centrally managed device. If your device has been enrolled in the UWindsor device management system (Intune MDM), this is likely you. One-step sign in means you sign in once to your device and gain access to all UWindsor single sign-on (SSO) enabled resources.

Two-step sign in

Two-step sign in is available for all other UWindsor community members (including students). After you first sign into your device, you'll see an additional sign-in page when accessing UWindsor single sign-on (SSO) enabled resources. Once you have signed into one SSO-enabled resource, you will be signed into them all.

Protect Your Accounts button

It is critically important that you lock, sign out or shut down your device when it is not in use. Failing to do so could expose your accounts to others. This is particularly crucial on public or shared computers such as in classrooms or computer labs.
