Stuart Phillips has B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Biochemistry from McMaster University and he obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo in Human Physiology in 1995. He joined McMaster University in 1999 and is currently a full Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Medicine and he is Director of the McMaster Centre for Nutrition, Exercise, and Health Research. His research is focused on the impact of nutrition and exercise interact to improve the health of skeletal muscle. He is also actively researching how exercise and protein impact body composition, strength, and function in aging. Dr. Phillips is a fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine and the American College of Nutrition, has authored more than 200 research papers, given more than 120 public presentations, and has authored a number of newspaper, and magazine articles.
