Timothy Burkhart Timothy Burkhart is a Research Scientist at the Lawson Health Research Institute and an Adjunct Professor in the Departments of Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Surgery, and Kinesiology at Western University in London, ON, Canada.  Timothy recently completed a three year postdoctoral fellowship in Mechanical Engineering at Western University where he was the recipient of a Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR) fellowship award that supported his postdoctoral studies. His main research focus is in injury and orthopaedic biomechanics with an interest in soft tissue reconstruction of the knee (e.g., ACL and ALL), prevention and mitigation of osteoarthritis, total hip and knee joint arthroplasty, traumatic fractures (e.g., wrist and elbow), and spine surgery. He collaborates with a number of orthopaedic surgeons and uses in vivo, computational, imaging, and large animal research methods in attempt to improve prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of orthopaedic conditions.
