Looking for a workout away from the treadmill?

Lancer Rec offers a limited schedule of dance classes this term, but we ensure a great workout in a fun atmosphere.

Burlesque

Burlesque is a unique performance art form that combines sexuality and jazz. In this class you will learn short 30 second – 1 minute routines. Burlesque is an old cabaret style of dance that is classically playful. This class, along with all of our dance classes are taught by the members of the Competitive Dance Company here at the University, all with an extensive dance and teaching background.

Mondays 7:30 - 8:30pm

Hip Hop

Hip Hop classes refer to the street dance style primarily performed to hip hop music. In this class you will learn short routines of different music from over the decades as well as to popular music today. This class is intermediate level of difficulty.

Mondays 8:30 - 9:30pm

Contemporary Dance

Contemporary is an expressive and emotional style of dance. It combines modern, jazz, lyrical and ballet. These classes strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements and is a good opportunity to relieve stress.

Wednesdays 7:30 - 8:30pm

Jazz Fusion

Jazz Fusion is a fierce, cute, powerful, sensual, diva-like style of dance. It combines the elements of Jazz and Hip Hop. In these classes you get to dance to upbeat music and feel like your own music industry superstar. Forget everything else, this style lets you release dance fiercely. Jazz Fusion is a powerful way of self expression.

Wednesdays 8:30 - 9:30pm

Zumba
 
Zumba takes the "work" out of workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. Once the Latin and World rhythms take over, you'll see why Zumba is a Fitness class often called exercise in disguise. Super effective! Super fun!Benefits:A total workout, combining all elements of fitness ? cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a serious dose of awesome each time you leave class.

Tuesdays 7 - 8pm, Fridays 12:00 -1:00pm and Saturdays 11:00 am to noon
