Professor Gemma Smyth is launching a new website, www.clinicallaw.ca, which is intended to support new clinical students in learning skills, knowledge and attitudes central to clinical law. The website is free and open-source. Topics include interviewing and client counseling, experiential awareness and cultural competence, and criminal trial skills. The content was based on interviews with clinicians and students across Ontario who wanted accessible ways to introduce students to clinical legal education. New content is added to the site often.
This project was funded through the Strategic Priority Fund at the University of Windsor, and includes films produced in conjunction with Professor Kim Nelson's Documentary Film Making class. A paper analysing the qualitative data gathered for the project will be available shortly.
