
Dr. Emily Carasco is this year’s recipient of the South Asian Bar Association’s (SABA’s) Distinguished Career Award.
The award is given annually to lawyers with at least 20 years of practice experience (at least 10 of which must be in the Province of Ontario), or professors with at least 20 years of teaching experience (with at least 10 years of teaching experience in a university or college in Ontario). General criteria for the awards were: demonstrated commitment to professional and/or academic excellence, initiative in community involvement, extraordinary leadership, commitment to mentoring, commitment to improving diversity and promise for exceptional contribution to legal and/or South Asian Community.
Previous winners include Vern Krishna Q.C. and Raj Anand. Dr. Carasco will be presented the award on November 16, 2011 in Toronto at SABA’s Annual Gala.
